Osama N. Mohamed is the Chief Executive Officer of Khatif Holding. He has joined Khatif immediately after formation, bringing to the business 25 years of experience in finance, treasury, and general management.
A graduate from Cairo University, Egypt, with a major in Finance and Accounting, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from California State Board of Accountancy, USA, an Alumni Member of London Business School, UK.
He started his career working for two of the big-4 audit firms, in 1991 he joined Coopers & Lybrand (Cairo), in 1993 he moved to Ernst & Young (Kuwait) till 1999.
During that period, he gained experience in varied industries such as Islamic Banking, Investments, Insurance, Contracting, manufacturing, and Retail. He was recruited by the African Export – Import Bank (AFREXIMBANK) in 1999, based in Cairo, as Senior Treasurer.
In June 2000, he was recruited as the Group Treasurer of Alshaya Group (a multi-national conglomerate operating in nine countries). The group was in the process of restructuring and expanding rapidly with a massive level of growth. He has played a material role, as member of the senior management team, to ensure that the group’s expansion is safely managed.
In July 2004, he joined Kuwait Finance and Investment Company (KFIC) as Executive Vice President and CFO, with finance, treasury, credit control, settlement, back office, operations & business planning functions under his management.
As a key member of KFIC’s senior management team, he led the reformation of the company, turning it from a small consumer finance company into a full-fledged investment bank. In four years, KFIC has positioned itself amongst top GCC asset management companies, top online brokerage service providers in the GCC & a key player in the Kuwaiti financing market.
